Charles Bowyer Jr.

FARMINGTON Charles William Bowyer, Jr. of Farmington, passed away on August 24, 2021, at Camelot Skilled Nursing and Rehab at the age of 90. He was born in Farmington on January 17, 1931, to the late Charles Bowyer, Sr., and Georgia Minnie (Nicholson) Bowyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by two children, Anthony Bowyer and Troy Bowyer; his former wife, June Ann (Brown) Bowyer and one brother, Frank B. Bowyer. After graduation from Farmington High School, Charles worked in St. Louis at the ammunitions plant during the Korean Conflict. He then worked for the shoe factory in Flat River before going to work for McDonnell Douglas. After a long career there he retired in 1987. Charles stayed busy in his retirement tinkering in his garage repairing and working on small engines and doing woodworking. He was always full of good advice and was the rock of the family. Survivors include his children, William (Tamara) Bowyer, Gerald (Nancy) Bowyer and Andrew "Lee" Ferguson; 14 grandchildren; 30 Great Grandchildren; and a brother, Alva (Yolanda) Bowyer. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday beginning at 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Randy Murphy officiating.
