Cecil Lloyd Wilfong

Cecil Lloyd Wilfong, of Louisiana, Missouri and formerly of Farmington, passed away July 25, 2014 at the age of 94. He was born May 19, 1920 in Fredericktown to the late Andrew Jackson Wilfong and Emma (LaChance) Wilfong. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorris Jean (Johnson) Wilfong in 1999. He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Anna Mae Brumbaugh, Goldie Wilfong, Juanita Powell and Thelma Hahn. Cecil was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge #48 for more than 60 years. He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Air Force. He married Dorris (Johnson) Wilfong on November 21, 1947 at Esther. He was employed for many years at Wetterau Foods in the freight receiving department. Cecil had been a member of the First Christian Church in Louisiana since February of 2011. He will be remembered as an accomplished woodworker who made many items for family and friends. His family will cherish the memory of Cecil's great sense of humor and his clever quips. Survivors include a son, Larry (Nancy) Wilfong of Louisiana, Missouri; a sister Virginia Franklin of Farmington; two grandchildren, Amanda (Shawn) Harrison of Laddonia, Missouri and Michael (April LaChance) Wilfong of Buffalo, Missouri; one great-grandson, Jackson Wilfong; numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family. Friends may call on Monday, July 28, at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 12:30 to 2 p..m. with services to follow at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the American Heart Association.
