Carolyn Williams

January 13, 1934 — April 21, 2014

Carolyn "Carol" Jean Williams of Womack passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014, at the age of 80 years. She was born on January 13, 1934, in St. Louis, daughter of the late Leslie Casimer and Lillian (Beaujean) Burnau. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Donald Lee Williams in 2010, a son-in-law, Donnie Nielsen in 2010, two brothers, Leslie Burnau, Jr. and Ronald Burnau. Carol graduated from Beaumont High School in St. Louis in 1952 and a few days later married the love of her life, Donald Williams. They made their home in Womack and raised their family there. She worked for more than 35 years at Trimfoot Shoe Company. After her retirement she enjoyed gardening, traveling, working puzzles and especially spending quality time with her kids and grandkids. She was an avid Cardinal baseball fan. She had a soft spot in her heart for all animals and took in many creatures. Carol was a faithful member of Silver Point Church where she will be remembered for her devotion of praying for others. Survivors include her children, Karen (George) Killian, Stephen (Brenda) Williams, Michael (Pamela) Williams, and Vickie Nielsen; seven grandchildren, David (Lavona) Miller, Deaven and Stwirt Williams, Adam (Beth) Wells, Amy Cisneros, Brittany (Barry) Watson and Tiffany (Craig Wimer) Nielsen; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Joyce Hogan; three very special friends, Laverne Winebarger, Annie Thomas and Naomi Cartee and numerous other family and friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 24 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Rev. Randy Krannig officiating. Interment will be at Silver Point Cemetery in Womack. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Silver Point Cemetery.
