Carolyn Brunson

PARK HILLS Carolyn Claudette Brunson of Park Hills passed away surrounded by her family at Mercy Jefferson on January 27, 2023 at the age of 75. She was born in Bonne Terre, Missouri on February 23, 1947 to the late Albert Leo Marler and Bette Jean (McWilliams) Songer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lanier; sisters, Tiffani An Pierson and Candice Seaman; an infant brother, Albert Marler; and her grandparents, Leo and Blanche McWilliams. Carolyn grew up in St. Francois County. She was a free spirited soul who was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She had many hobbies and pastimes including playing bingo, scouting out the best garage sales, scrapbooking and doing crafting projects. She was notorious for making everyones Christmas gifts. She was a great cook whose specialties included wonderful egg sandwiches and fried burritos. Carolyn was very proud to have had seventeen years of sobriety. Survivors include her two children, Jason (Ryen) Wisdom and Annette (Silas Laycock) Mayberry; grandchildren, Ronald (Samantha) Kinney, Joshua (Casey) Kinney, Christopher (Kelsey) Kinney, Brian Thomas, Isabella (Richard) McCullough and Kylah Wisdom; five great grandchildren, Mavven, Norii, Riley, Julian and Audrey; and siblings, Cheryl (Frank) Vallie and Bruce Marler. There will be a celebration of life for Carolyn on Saturday, February 4, 2023 beginning at 1 p.m. at the Desloge VFW at 399 West Oak in Desloge, Missouri.
