Carol Ann White

March 16, 1943 — January 7, 2016

FARMINGTON Carol Ann White, of Farmington passed away January 7, 2016 at Mercy Jefferson Hospital surrounded by her loving family at the age of 72. She was born in Hermosa Beach, CA on March 16, 1943 to the late Cecil Roy and Mary Olive Biggerstaff. She was preceded in death by her son, Donis Clanton in 2010 and a grandson, Kody Gene Rector in 1987; two sisters, Sharon Lee McGonigal and Linda McAlpin.

Carol proudly served her country first in the United States Navy before she enlisted in the United States Army where she served for 20 years until her retirement. While in the military she was a medic, a recruiter, a counselor and ended her military career working in the office of the Missouri Attorney General in St. Louis. During her lifetime she was a member of the American Legion, First Vice Commander of Amvets, a past Adjunct and Treasurer for Disabled American Veterans, a lifetime member and past president of Psi Beta, a member of SGI-USA and a group leader for Tip Top Park in Arcadia Valley. She was also a proud past member of the Pekingese Rescue Group. Carol will be remembered as a dedicated and devoted parent to her family of four children. She was a lover of music and at one time was a good dancer. Later in life she became an avid shopper and reader.

She leaves behind her children, Bamby (Jay) Miller, Luana Clanton Ayers and Rob Page and Darla Clanton all of Farmington; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren with one on the way; and a host of nieces and extended family.

Friends and family may call on Sunday, January 10, at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday morning at 7 a.m. until the service beginning at 10 a.m. Interment with full military honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis beginning at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
