Carol Ann Ferguson

DESLOGE- Carol Ann Ferguson of Desloge, formerly of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center at the age of 60 years. She was born November 23, 1951 at Evansville, Indiana the daughter of Rosa Lee (Mincey) and the late Dudley Wayne Phelps. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her son Claude Jason Ferguson, and two half-brothers Vernon Phelps and Eugene "Pinkey" Phelps. Mrs. Ferguson was enlisted for several years in the United States Army where she served as a Telecommunications Technician and Operator. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and enjoyed reading and watching television. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her mother Rosa Lee Phelps of Evansville, IN, a sister Darlene F. Johnston of Booneville, IN, two brothers Larry W. Phelps of Evansville, IN and Randy E. Phelps of Booneville, IN, a half-sister Sharon Phelps, and numerous other relatives and friends. The family wishes to extend a heart-felt thank you to the staff at both NHC Healthcare in Desloge and St. Francois Manor in Farmington, for being such compassionate caregivers to Carol. The family will hold a memorial service in her hometown of Evansville, IN at a later date. Carol will be laid to rest with full military honors at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to the charity of the donor's choice. Local arrangements are under the care and direction of the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory.
