Carl George Pruetzel

FARMINGTON- Carl George Pruetzel of Farmington, passed away on November 22, 2020 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center at the age of 85. He was born on January 19, 1935 in St. Louis to the late Carl C. and Lucille (Westphal) Pruetzel Carl married the love of his life, Sue Stecher, his wife of almost 65 years. In addition to Sue, he is survived by his daughters, Deborah Dalton of Farmington and Denise (James) Gober of Farmington, his grandchildren, Nikki (Timothy) Masters, Wendy (Garey) Cruse, Tracy Proctor, and Carl (Kristina) Gober, his great grandchildren, Alana Masters, Jillian Masters, Piper Cruse, Cam Cruse, Justice Proctor, Christopher Proctor, Addalynn Proctor, and Wyatt Gober and many friends. Carl was born and raised in Affton. After graduating from high school, he served in the Missouri National Guard for eight years. He was a skilled sheet metal worker and a long time member of the Sheet Metal Local 36 and the Sheet Metal Workers International Association. He was a jack of all trades especially heating and cooling and designed and built six custom homes. Carl loved to dance and travel all over the world with Sue. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a farmer for over 40 years raising Simmental cattle, hogs, ostriches and emus. He was a master gardener and sold his produce at the Farmers Market for many years. He was a wonderful teacher of life to all his family and loved having his family on the farm especially his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24 from 12:00 noon until time of service at 2:00pm at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Masks are required by all attending the visitation and/or service. Interment to follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
