C. Duane Heaps

PARK HILLS - C. Duane Heaps of Park Hills, passed away September 4, 2020 at his home at the age of 71. He was born in Weingarten, Missouri on January 14, 1949 to the late Cleatus Heaps and Margaret (Hardy) Heaps. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Heaps and Delmar Heaps and sisters, Sandy Benscoter and Sharon Lee Heaps. Duane graduated from high school in Farmington and went on to Midwest Institute in Kirkwood where he became a Registered Medical Assistant. He was the first male Registered Medical Assistant to ever enroll in the RMA program they offered. He was a hard worker who had a variety of professions over the years, including driving a Bunny Bread truck and working in construction. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Watching westerns, camping and fishing for catfish were some of his favorite activities. Survivors include four daughters, Tonia Rodriguez, Tricia Boyer, Carrie (Donald) Walker and Amanda (Jesse Melton) Heaps; ten grandchildren, Justin Heaps, Daniel, Jonathan and Cody Rodriguez, Nathan and Brandon Boyer and Emily Boyer, Joshua Myers, Pacey Heaps and Myles Melton; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Bill Heaps and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at 12:30 until the service beginning at 2:30 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Genevieve Baptist Cemetery.
