C. D. Walker of Old Appleton, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center, at the age of 85 years. He was born on August 27, 1924, in Bernie, Missouri, the son of the late David and Etta (Woods) Walker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers, John and James Walker. A life long resident of Southeast Missouri, C. D. retired from Kroger Bakery in St. Louis where he was a machinest for 39 years. He was a member of Cape County Cowboy Church in Cape Girardeau. He was a talented musician who enjoyed playing the organ. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards. Watching Cardinal baseball was a favorite pastime. More than anything C. D. enjoyed spending time with his loving family. C. D. is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sylvia L. (Allen) Walker, four children, Debra Declue, Gregory Molina, Sr., LaVon McCoy and Leonard Molina; eight grandchildren, Ronnie Buckingham, Melissa Buckingham, Gregory Molina, Jr., Josh McCoy, Jacob McCoy, Alexis McCoy, Brandon Molina and Ashley Molina; six great-grandchildren and two on their way; a sister Tilda Kennel and a brother, Larry Walker. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel in Farmington from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 20, 2010. Visitation will resume Saturday from 7 a.m. until the beginning of the service at 3 p.m.with Pastor Jim Matthews officiating. Private entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
