FARMINGTON Bud Norman passed into his heavenly home on March 30, 2024, at the age of 67 years and 11 months. He was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas on April 29, 1956, to the late Murray Norman Sr. and Mary Frances (Stokes) Norman. (As written by Buds loving wife, Donna) Anyone who knew Bud knew he was considerate of other people and always willing to help the underdog. Always willing to help those he loved most. He spent his life devoted to the City of Farmington as Parks and Recreation Director for over 45 years. He retired at the age of 66 years and 4 months. We barely had enough time to get used to retirement when he thought maybe he retired too soon. He missed his co-workers terribly. The personal side of Bud? How do you sum up a hero? A man who was always there. Its a little hard when the person youre talking about has been the love of your life, all of your life. Steady as a rock . . . and always loved unconditionally. Not many men stand up to that. Bud always fought for what was right not what was easiest. He loved with his heart. He accepted people not for what theyve done in their past, but for what theyre doing to make their future brighter. He was honest and giving, mostly he loved. He loved me, our kids, grandkids, and extended family. Most likely if youre reading this, he loved you too. If you saw him outside, he was polishing something, throwing up his hand as you honked when going by. He was my childhood sweetie from age 9 until the day he left me, then my heart stopped too. Bud and I would have celebrated 49 years of marriage in May. We were both very much looking forward to the future ahead of us. Our kids encouraged us to follow our dreams. God decided differently. I have to look at Buds future as the one that counted most right now in our Lords eyes. Bud finally settled in, found the "gear head" in himself and there was no turning back. Bud always said, "Ill know when its time to get off (this bike)." I guess he figured it was his time to get off. Our family is grieving terribly over the loss of him, and were also a little envious. After all, how many people get to leave this world doing exactly what they loved most! God speed our sweet husband, dad, papaw, brother and friend. We love you always and may God bless us with the joy of seeing you soon. Survivors include his wife, Donna Marie Norman, children Nicholas (Rayne) Norman and Jennifer (Jake) Thomure; grandkids, Hannah Norman, Tristan Norman, Niyah Hayward, Sofiah Thomure, Aspyn Thomure, Tanner Thompson and Pheenx Thompson; a brother, Phil (Kristi) Norman; sisters, Missy (Earl) Peterson and Gina (Doug) Taylor.
