Brother Larry D. Bodine

BONNE TERRE Brother Larry D. Bodine, of Bonne Terre, passed away October 22, 2021 at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Festus, Missouri. He was born July 24, 1950 in St. Louis to the late Dale G. Bodine and Jeanette Bodine. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Susan Bodine. Larry was a loving husband and father who taught his children to have a strong work ethic. He was a friend to those in need. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army Big Red One Infantry state side and in Germany. Larry attended Mineral Area College where he received his Associate degree and then went on to the Missouri Bible Institute. Also, he held a certificate in Nouthetic Counseling. After 32 years with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Larry retired as Construction Manager of the East Construction Unit is Festus, Missouri. He was a volunteer for Heart and Soul Hospice of Farmington, and also provided service for Presbyterian Manor. For eight years he served as Clerk for the St. Francois District of the Free Will Baptist Association and served on the State Board of the Free Will Baptist Association in Lebanon, Missouri. Most of all he served the Lord in ministry to his church at DeSoto, Missouri. Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, including, his loving wife of 52 years, Regenia (Sloan) Bodine; his children, Tina (Scott) Buck, Mary Ann (Al-Hussain) Al-Sharif and Larry V. Bodine; grandchildren, R.J (Rhey Shrader Hill), Grant, Brett, Andrew, Elizabeth and Emmalee, as well as a great grandchild, Juniper, three sisters, Linda (Scott) Maxey, Rita (Chris) Dei and Cathy Bodine and a host of extended family and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 - 8 p.m. Visitation will be resumed on Friday, October 29, 2021 beginning at 9 a.m at the DeSoto First Free Will Baptist Church until the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. with Brother Bob Thebeau officiating. Interment with Military Honors will be held following the funeral at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. Due to the pandemic, masks will be required at all times. Memorials, if desired, may be made in care of the funeral home to Heart and Soul Hospice of Farmington, the Southeast Missouri Food Bank, St. Joseph's Indian School or The Larry D.
