Bonnie Jean Gibson of Farmington passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2007, at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, at the age of 79 years. She was born on March 3, 1928, at Goodwater, MO, the daughter of Matt and Goldie (Brooks) Jarvis. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Matt Jarvis Jr. a grandson, Bradley Gibson, and a son-in-law, Paul Long. Bonnie was a homemaker and a member of Eastern Star. She loved her family dearly, taking special joy in her grandchildren. Her family was her life. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul Edward Gibson, two sons, James Gibson and wife Lorraine of Colorado Springs, CO and Mark Gibson and Helen of Indianapolis, IN, three daughters, Phyllis Gibson, Connie Scott and husband Gary, and Brenda Long, all of Farmington, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, three sisters, Rosemary Gibson and husband Bill of Farmington, Betty Smith and husband Darrel of Viburnum and Emma Lashley and husband Frank of Belleview, two sisters-in-law, Juanita Jarvis of Salem and Delores (Lane) Stites of Steelville, and a brother-in-law, Gary Gibson and wife Janelle of Farmington. Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2007, with an Eastern Star Service held at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Monday with a funeral service at the Cozean Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul (Tutor) Pryor officiating. Burial will follow at Viburnum Baptist Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the American Lung Association.
