Bobbie Jean Hammon

Bobbie Jean Dickerson-Hammon of Farmington, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Parkland Health Center at the age of 81 years. She was born April 27, 1931 at Big Sandy, Tennessee, daughter of the late Hoit and Vera Mae (Evans) Martin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, the Reverend Dick Dickerson, second husband Ken Novell, third husband John Hammon, and two brothers, Jesse and Bob Martin. Bobbie was a member of the Farmington First Baptist Church, and the Horizon Club at First State Bank. She was homemaker and a devoted mother and grandmother. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, traveling, making new friends, and giving of herself. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her children, Terry and wife Blanca Dickerson of Austin, Texas, Denny and wife Kathy Dickerson of Ellington, Billy Dickerson of Farmington, Faith and husband Clyde Dinkins of Annapolis, and Philip Dickerson of Bonne Terre, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. The family would also like to acknowledge Bobbie's dear friend and companion, Bud Cole of Sainte Genevieve. His companionship and support for Bobbie meant so much to her and her family as well. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory from 5 to 8 p.m. On Monday September 25, 2012. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Farmington First Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at the church at 11 a.m. with Dr. William Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Annapolis Cemetery at Annapolis. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials, if desired, be made to the American Diabetes Association.
