Bob Bone

May 20, 1942 — November 3, 2023

FARMINGTON With heavy hearts, we announce that Robert "Bob" Francis Bone, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Parkland Hospital, at the age of 81. Bob was born to the late Francis and Margaret (Coleman) Bone on May 20, 1942, in Ironton, Missouri. He spent his childhood in Old Mines, where he fostered a lifetime of friendships and memories, especially during his formative years at St. Joachim School. Pursuing a passion for craft and community, Bob attended Barber College in St. Louis, and in 1961, he laid the foundation of a 60-year career as a barber in Farmington. Even after his retirement in 2021, Bob's dedication to his craft continued as he graciously offered haircuts to friends and family from his home. Bob's love for baseball was as enduring as his love for his community. From his early days playing the game, to later coaching his sons baseball teams and his daughters softball team, Bob instilled the spirit of sportsmanship and teamwork in all. His allegiance to the Cardinals was more than that of a fan; it was a part of who he was, as evidenced by his impressive collection of team memorabilia. In addition to his love for barbering and baseball, Bob had a strong passion for the outdoors, particularly for the art of lawn care. He manicured his lawn with the same precision and care that he brought to his barbering. Bob was frequently seen on his riding mower, trimming not only his own yard but also those of his neighbors. His community involvement was marked by active participation in the Jaycees and as a lifetime member of both the Knights of Columbus and the Farmington Elks Lodge. Together with his wife, Pat, they were proudly named Mr. and Mrs. Country Days in 1992. Among his many hobbies, Bob found joy in crafting homemade Kahlua, a token of his love that he generously shared. His faith was central to his life as a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington. Also known for seeing the good in everyone, Bob's unwavering faith in others and his capacity to embrace life will forever be a guiding light for those he leaves behind. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Pat (Roy) Bone, their children Cheryl King, Robert Francis "Bobby" (Cassie) Bone, Rodney (Grace) Bone, Marsha (Keith) Petty, and Christopher (Erin) Bone. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Dustin King, Highley Boyer, Zachary Bone, Jesecca Bone, Bridget Bone, Jonathon Bone, ChristopherUngacta, Conner Bone, Natalie Bone, Andi Frame, Emma Petty, Braden Bone, Lucas Bone, and Liam Bone, as well as seven great-grandchildren with another on the way. He also leaves behind his sisters, Murry (Richard) Bequette and Marilyn (Donnie) Pinson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and lifelong friends. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the visitation on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel in Farmington. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Farmington. Following the Mass, all are invited to the St. Joseph Parish Center for a lunch. The immediate family will join the lunch following a private burial at New Calvary Cemetery.
