Billy O'Farrell

FARMINGTON - Billy Wayne O'Farrell, Sr. of Farmington, formerly of Doe Run, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at his home at the age of 71 years. He was born April 22, 1944 in St. Louis, son of the late William R. and Helen J. (Powell) O'Farrell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Virginia Jones. Billy worked in the construction trade as a site laborer and was a proud member of the Laborers Local 916 Farmington and Local 1104 Cape Girardeau. He was an active and faithful member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish of Farmington and a member of the Knights Of Columbus 4th Degree St. Francois Council # 1088. He was also an active member of the Mineral Area Labor Legislative Club. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him including his wife Glenda Mae (Favier) O'Farrell of Farmington, two sons, Billy W. O'Farrell, Jr. (& wife Patty) of Doe Run and Joseph O'Farrell of St. Louis; two grandchildren Keegan O'Farrell and Laina O'Farrell, a brother James O'Farrell of Farmington and a sister Wanda Chamberlain of Farmington as well as numerous other relatives, neighbors and dear friends. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with Parish Rosary will being recited at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Farmington with Fr. Rickey Valleroy as celebrant. Interment will be in the New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Masses or the St. Joseph Parish St. Vincent DePaul Society.
