Billy Mauk

November 17, 1922 — June 6, 2016

FARMINGTON Billy G. Mauk, of Farmington, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016 at Presbyterian Manor at the age of 93. He was born in Desloge on November 17, 1922 to the late William David Mauk and Martha "Ella" (Pritchett) Mauk. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Beulah (Thomas) Mauk in 2003; a grandson, Dale Wayne Mauk; a brother, Harold Mauk and a special cousin, Charles Gallagher.

Billy loved music, babies, coon hunting and the Cardinals. He was a great rhythm guitarist; him and his Martin never missed a lick. There are countless tapes of him playing with his musician friends. "Mom and Daddy" raised four kids and cared for their grand kids. Billy adored babies, the littler the better, and babies adored him too. He coon hunted all of his life and had one of the best coon hounds in the country. Billy bought Duke in 1960 and the hound hunted faithfully for ten years and he missed Duke until the day he passed. He loved watching the Cardinals play and never missed a game. He proudly served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Phillipines and New Guinea. We have lost our funny, kind, smart, talented Daddy/Grandpa/Papa/Poppy.

Survivors include his children, David (Linda) Mauk, Dennis (Kim) Mauk, Madonna (David) Weiss, and Janice (Bill) Holloway; eight grandchildren, Diane Mauk, Dr. Wm. David "Davey" Mauk, Kelly (Underwood) Littrell, Kyle Underwood, Jessica Mauk, Jonna Mauk, Jason Weiss and Chad Weiss; twelve great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; a special brother-in-law, Paul E. Thomas; and other extended family.
