Bill G. Hall

July 19, 1925 — September 8, 2017

FARMINGTON Bill G. Hall, of Farmington, passed away September 8, 2017 at Presbyterian Manor at the age of 92. He was born in Fulton, Missouri to the late George Parker Hall and Reba (Ausburn) Gardner. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, June (Pratte) Hall in 2015; his stepfather, Dr. Paul T. Burks and a sister, Bonnie Schmidt.

Bill moved to Farmington at an early age where he attended St. Paul Lutheran School and Farmington High School. He went on to proudly serve in the U. S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific during WWII. He was called back into duty during the Korean conflict. Upon his return to civilian life, he went to work for Blackwell Chevrolet in Bonne Terre. It was there where he met his future wife, June, where she worked at a nearby drug store. For 47 years he owned and operated Bill Halls Phillips 66 located first at Ozark Village and then at 2 North Main. He retired on December 31, 2001. An avid follower of his grandchildrens sporting events, he also enjoyed Farmington football. An accomplished gardener, Bill always had a beautiful yard and flower garden. Many will remember Bill as a big-hearted person who always would lend a hand to those in need. He received the first Distinguished Citizen Award from the City of Farmington. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Farmington.

Survivors include his three children, Keith (Emily) Hall of Brandon, MS, Kent (Jennifer) Hall of Farmington and Kim (David) Hillyard of Imperial; three grandchildren, Michael (Becca) Hall, Megan (Jason) Coleman and Mitchell Hillyard; five great grandchildren, Andrew, Blake, Easton, Peyton, Colten plus one grandchild on the way; and a host of in-laws and other extended family members.

Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 14 from 4 7 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 7 p.m. with Reverend Jacob Pollard and Reverend Bob Webb officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to Presbyterian Manors Good Samaritan Fund. View the tribute video and share your condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
