FARMINGTON - Betty Lou Jones-Hughes of Farmington passed away, Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Presbyterian Manor in Farmington at the age of 81 years. She was born September 14, 1933 in St. Louis the daughter of the late Raymond and Irene (Stovall) Shanks. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband John Paul Jones in 1975, her second husband Charles W. Hughes in 1998 and a son John Michael Jones in 2005. Betty was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a loving and caring Mother and Grandmother and a dear friend to many. She will be missed by her family including her sons David A. (& Leslie) Jones, Sr. of Farmington, and Monty Jeter of Lowndesboro, AL, two grandsons David A. Jones, II of Jefferson City, and Paul W. Jones of Farmington, two half-sisters Mary Schneider of Ellington and Mabel Gilmore of Sedalia, two very special friends, Betty Alexander of New Baden, IL and Beulah Cox of Doe Run as well as numerous other relatives and dear friends. Friends may call at the Cozean Memorial Chapel & Crematory on Tuesday June 9, 2015 from 8:30-10:30 a.m. A funeral service will be held at 11a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor James T. King officiating. Private interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Organ Repair Fund.
