Betty Lou Howlett

September 24, 1934 — November 28, 2017

FARMINGTON Betty Howlett, of Farmington, passed away November 28, 2017 at Southbrook Skilled Nursing and Rehab at the age of 83. She was born in Fredericktown on September 24, 1934 to the late Clarence Owen Kennedy and Bertha (Green) Kennedy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Calhoun; a son, Dennis Crews; sisters, Vera and Ruth and brothers, John and Jim.

Betty was always known to be a very hard worker who spent her career in nursing and home care. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She enjoyed many friendships with people she had met throughout the years. Getting together with friends and playing cards was one of her favorite pastimes.

She is survived by six children, Barbara Crews Hensley, Tim Crews, Terry Crews, Thomas Crews, Rick Kennedy and Les Reeves; thirteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, a sister, Glenda Fox, two brothers, Joe Kennedy and Jay Kennedy, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Cozean Memorial Chapel at 1 p.m. Private interment will be held at Knob Lick Cemetery. Memorials if desired, may be made to the American Heart Association. View the online obituary and share your condolences at cozeanfuneralhome.com.
