Betty Jo Henson

FARMINGTON Betty Jo Henson, of Farmington, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing and Rehab at the age of 84. She was born on March 15, 1939, in Clarkton, Missouri, to the late Nolan Berry and Hester (OBarr) Berry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Greg Henson in 2015 and two brothers, J R Berry, and Tony Berry. Betty grew up in the bootheel of Missouri. In 1957, she moved to Graniteville, and that was where she met and married Cy Henson. She was a devoted and loving mother who stayed busy raising three boys. She was a very selfless person who was kind and would help anybody. She unconditionally loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Open-Heart Assembly and there was not a day that went by that she didnt read her bible. Some of her favorite pastimes included going shopping, going to garage sales, sewing and working crossword puzzles. She was a fabulous cook whose specialty was chicken and dumplings and pecan pie. She is survived by her husband, Cy Henson; two sons, Mike Henson, and Chris (Sandy) Henson; grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Tinnin, Ashley (Chris) Turner, Justin Henson and Jennifer Henson, Zak (Sarah) Henson and Jake (Bree) Henson; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Melody Berry and Bonnie Ransom; brothers, Steve Berry and Albert Berry. Also surviving is her best friend, Mary Mayberry and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Cozean Memorial Chapel beginning at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Cove Cemetery in Iron County. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Susan G. Komen, Breast Cancer Foundation.
