FARMINGTON - Betty Jane Detring of Farmington, passed away August 1, 2015 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St Louis at the age of 82. She was born September 25, 1932 in Stockton, Missouri to the late Tom and Jane (Hendricks) Bryant. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jean E. Detring; three brothers, Dwayne, Jack and Gene; a sister, Phyllis and a brother-in-law, John Vogt. Betty was a 1950 graduate of Farmington High School. Soon after graduation she married the love of her life, Jean, in a ceremony on October 1, 1950 in Farmington. They enjoyed a long marriage together raising their family. Betty's passion was cooking, especially baking wonderful pie and cinnamon rolls. An active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Betty was a member of Ladies Aid, LWML and Bible Class. Her family was her pride and joy, especially the five new babies in the family all born within a year. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including her three children, Janie (Bud) Link of Bonne Terre, Scott (Mary) Detring of St. Louis and Dan (Debbie) Detring of Farmington; thirteen grandchildren, Kacie Detring, Derek Detring, Travis Detring, Dottie Detring Zimmerman (Matt), Kourtney Detring, Molly Detring Meade (Ron), Elizabeth Link, Kelsey Detring Koppeis (Eric), Hannah Detring, Korde Detring, Jordyn Link, Amanda Link Bartley (Keith) and Kinsey Reiner; seven great-grandchildren, Kaleb Detring, Lola Zimmerman, Ella Mae Koppeis, Wyatt Smith, Gwendolyn Meade, Peyton Robbins and Ruby Zimmerman; sisters, Pat Vogt of Manhattan, KS and Judy Bryant (Bill) of St. Louis; sisters-in-law, Carol Jane Bryant of North Carolina, Hilda Bryant, of Farmington, Nina Detring of Farmington, Darlene McWilliams of Farmington and Charlotte Simms of Wentzville; and a host of nieces, nephews and many good friends. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 7 from 5 - 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor James King officiating.
