BONNE TERRE- Bernard Eugene "Bernie" Rauch, Sr. of rural Farmington, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013 at St. Joe Manor in Bonne Terre at the age of 88 years. He was born August 6, 1924 in St. Louis son of the late Michael Eugene and Orelia Valerie (Koch) Rauch. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two sons, Bernard Eugene Rauch, Jr. and Gary Wayne Rauch. Bernie proudly served his country during WWII in the Pacific Theater in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the St. Louis Carpenter's Union Local #1. For many years he was the co-owner of Major Interiors, a commercial contracting business in St. Louis. Following retirement he settled on Indian Creek in St. Francois County where he and his wife raised cattle. Following the death of their sons Bernie and his wife Betty devoted much love and support to their church, Community Christian Church of Farmington. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him, including his wife Betty Jean (Binsbacher) Rauch of Farmington, a sister Jeane D. (Robert) Romberger, daughter-in-law Linda (Rauch) McReynolds, four nieces Cheryl (Bruce) Glickstein, Beth (Robert) Miller, Linda Sue Jones, and Janet Binsbacher, three nephews Val Roy Binsbacher, Dennis Binsbacher and Michael Binsbacher, his Church Family and a host of friends and neighbors. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 with a funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment with full military honors will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Community Christian Church of Farmington.
