Ben King

FARMINGTON Ben King, of Farmington, entered into eternal rest on October 11, 2022, at his home at the age of 83. He was born in Ames, Iowa on November 17, 1938, to the late William and Lillian (Thornton) King. Ben is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Claudia King of Farmington, his son, James "Jamie" (Lauren) King of Farmington, his grandchildren, Sloan King and Marlowe King, his siblings, Faith (Judd) Davis of London, England, Aaron (D.D.) King of Bettendorf, IA, and Harris King of Windsor, CA, nieces and nephews, Kate, Sarah, Jordan, and Nicholas, extended family members Glenda and Deana Dix, many friends and his two special canine companions, Sofie and Aspen. Ben, Claudia, and Jamie were the owners of Dix Greenhouse from 1986 until his retirement. He graduated from Iowa State with a degree in engineering. He was a man of many skills and he and Sloan spent special time together in his home workshop. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church. Ben was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. He was a kind man who never met a stranger and will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew him and those who loved him. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel.
