Barbara Jean Knox

Barbara Jean Knox of Farmington passed away suddenly on August 31 at the age of 76. She was born July 2, 1938 in Farmington to the late Fred and Bernice (Green) Stewart. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon E. "Duke" Knox in 2002; two sisters, Nadine Ayers and Mildred Cunningham; three brothers, Homer Johnson, Glen Johnson and Jimmy Johnson; and two grandsons, Justin and Ryan Knox. Barbara was a busy homemaker who raised seven children. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and flower gardening. Caring for her animals was a favorite pastime of hers also. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. Survivors include her children, Chuck (Connie) Knox, Rebecca (Ray) Hull, Dennis (Kim) Knox, Darrell Knox, Pam (Keith) Shuh, Jeffrey (Connie) Knox and Vicky Knox; seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren as well as one on the way; a brother, Lonnie Stewart and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Thursday, September 4 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume Friday morning at 7 a.m. until the beginning of the service at 10 a.m. with Reverend Tim Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Three Rivers Cemetery.
