Annabel Loyd

FARMINGTON Annabel Loyd, of Farmington, passed away on December 23, 2023, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing at the age of 88. She was born in Farmington on October 29, 1935, to the late Homer S. Whitener and Dolly Mae (Gannaway) Whitener. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Sam Whitener and Bob (Mary) Whitener and a sister, Karen (Henry) Kinneman. Annabel grew up in the Farmington area and graduated from Doe Run High School. She was a member of the Doe Run First Baptist Church where she played the piano. She also played at other area churches as well. Throughout her adult life she had various professions. As well as a pianist, she worked as a clerk typist, a nurses aide, and a childcare provider. Any job she took on she did it well and worked hard. She took a great amount of pride in donating to various Christian charities. Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Bill Loyd; her sister-in-law, Daisy Whitener; nieces and nephews; special friends Mark and Nancy Dotson and her special, close family friends, the J. Lee Boyd Family. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Cozean Memorial Chapel beginning at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Kristen Klein officiating. Interment will follow at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Farmington Senior Center Meals on Wheels program.
