Ann Ellen Royer

December 6, 1941 — January 19, 2024

FARMINGTON Ann Ellen Royer, of Farmington, entered eternal rest on January 19, 2024, at her daughters home surrounded by her family at the age of 82. She was born on December 6, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Howard and Mary Ellen (Johnson) Evens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Dick E. Royer. Since her cancer diagnosis on September 29, 2023, she fought hard and never once complained. Ann was a woman of strong Christian faith and was a longtime member of Memorial United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Womens group. Over the years, she was also a member of the Breakfast Bunch, P.E.O., the Monday Club, Mineral Area Council of the Arts, and the Money Madams. She was a proud Republican and was involved in political fundraisers. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, scrapbooking, and playing bridge with her friends. She and Dick enjoyed volunteering at marathons in support of Cure JM which holds a special place in their hearts. They also loved to travel and take cruises throughout the United States and different countries. Ann loved her family dearly. During Ron and Jos childhood, she was the #1 cheerleader for Rons football games from Hazelwood Central High School to Baker University and for Jos softball games and swim meets. She especially adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed Claires soccer games, Matts hockey games, Lyndsies softball games, and Zachary on the baseball and football field. Ann is survived by her children, Ron Royer of Eldon and Jo Ellen (Michael) Smith of Farmington, her grandchildren, Lyndsie (Michael) Honeycutt, Staff Sergeant Zachary (Abby) Smith, Matthew Royer, and Claire Royer, her great grandchildren, Jovie Smith, Vivian Smith, Gloria Smith, and Josephine Honeycutt, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Ron Beaton.
