Alma Rose Kennedy

Alma Rose Kennedy, of Farmington, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the age of 74. She was born on October 19, 1940 to the late Robert and Marguerite (Henderson) Quinton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Thelma Whitworth and a brother, Robert Quinton. Alma was a life long resident of the area. She raised her four children as a single mom, working very hard to be both mom and dad to them. She always had a keen sense of humor but was warm and caring at the same time. Her children will remember her as a great fan of George Jones and Elvis Presley who never passed up a chance to go dancing. An avid fan of television, she also was a collector of coins and stamps. Earlier in her life she had been a devoted member of the Farmington Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She will be sorely missed by all of her loved ones. Survivors include her four children, Chuck (Donna) Quinton, Keith Kennedy, Laura Brown Kennedy and Kelly Schmid Rector; fourteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters, Wilma Whitworth, Linda Copeland, Brenda Benton and Glenda Quinton; and special friends, Bonnie and Dallas Brown. Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Wednesday evening, February 25 from 5 - 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning beginning at 7 a.m. until the service at 10 a.m. in the Cozean Chapel. Interment will follow at Fredericktown Christian Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be given to the charity of donor's choice.
