Agnes Louise Cottam

FARMINGTON Agnes Louise (Rion) Cottam of Farmington passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at Parkland Health Center at the age of 97 years. She was born on September 8, 1918 at Farmington the youngest of 10 children born to the late John Daniel and Maude Rose (Crawford) Rion. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Werth Muller Cottam, four sisters, Nola Hinkle, Marguerite (Maggie) Kollmeyer, Velma Lober and Dorothy Westmeyer; and five brothers Everett, Earl, Howard, John M., and Warren Rion.

On June 16, 1937 she was united in marriage to Werth Muller Cottam, and they had a very happy marriage for 59 years. Together they enjoyed fishing and camping, spending many happy hours at goose Creek Lake in French Village. Before retirement, she was employed as a Supervisor and a Time and Motion Analyst for the Trimfoot Shoe Company where she worked for 38 years. Following her retirement Louise enjoyed cross stitching, spending time watching the St. Louis Cardinals and occasionally putting a penny or two in the slot machines.

She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her including numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friends and neighbors.

Friends may call on Saturday, June 11, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Cozean memorial Chapel & Crematory. Graveside services will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington.
